Louis Ami Arlaud-Jurine (1751 - 1829)Louis-Ami Arlaud-Jurine , born in Geneva onOctober 13, 1751 and died in the same city on August 8, 1829, is a Swiss artist , painter, miniaturist, engraver.He is the son of François Arlaud, watchmaker, and Etiennette Penard, and the grand-nephew of miniaturist Jacques-Antoine Arlaud . After a stay in Italy, he married in 1778 Susanne Jurine with whom he had two sons.
He is a member of the Geneva Arts Society since its foundation in 1776 and director of his School of Drawing from 1779 to 1783, then from 1788 to 1790. Among his students he includes Firmin Massot , Wolfgang Adam Toepffer , Jacques-Laurent Agasse and Adrienne Pauline Bacle . From 1816 he exhibited regularly at Salons organized by the Geneva Arts Society
